A Road Map For Life!

From the heart and mind of K.G. Petrone, comes a poetry collection that deals with a greater practical understanding of life and draws much more pertinence to modern-day issues. Basically, “The Fractured Ego” is a road map for Life and how it affects our choices—past, present, and future.

The cathartic nature of writing and the near-religious experience that authors and poets go through to give birth to their work is so well expressed in Petrone’s poem titled, “Healing Through Words”. As a person who suffers from ADHD and a touch of OCD, I personally found it difficult not to relate directly to her poem “Being Me”. This work expands on the emotional conflicts of coping with a disability while trying hard to follow a routine course in everyday life—The discovery made is that there is no routine. “Get Over It” deals with PTSD and the assumption by others that, someday, one will be able to forget their trauma and move forward like nothing ever happened.

Surprising additions to this collection are the poet’s tributes to 9/11 and the ensuing war that followed. Petrone’s touching and personal pieces, “The Soldier”, “The Twins”, and “Land Of the Free”, address the issue with candidness and great insight.

“The Fractured Ego” speaks to the soul in each of us—It plunges into topics that are usually pushed down and safeguarded by those who suffer from illness, heartache, loss, and depression while seeking to present the inner struggle to pursue long-time goals in a whole new light. I highly recommend this poetry collection for anyone who has experienced a full life—It definitely puts it in perspective.

Congratulations to the author on this award-winning story! This novel will be permanently featured on my website at AuthorJBRichards.com under IHIBRP 5 Star Recommended Reads!
