The Stairway

She looked up the stairway alone and afraid

Falling to her knees, hands together and prayed

Hoping and begging for this not to be true

Thinking of those she’d leave behind feeling blue

She pleaded for her life just one more chance

Bargaining for release from the eternal ghost dance

This time she would not waste a single day

Ignoring the living riding the internet highway

She promised to pay attention to those in real life

While pledging to stay green for the earth’s wildlife

She vowed to rebuild her life with dignity and grace

And swore off socializing on Facebook and Myspace

She promised all this and so much more…

Although deep down a social internet whore

Her prayer was answered they gave her a shot

But she failed, dying instantly from a damn blood clot
